Lake Davis Fly Fishing
Lake Davis is one of the best trophy trout lakes in the western United States. Eagle Lake strain rainbows are planted here and with a plentiful food base these fish grow huge in a short time. The best times to fish are in June during the damselfly hatch, and autumn, when the trout are gorging on freshwater snails, fattening up for winter. The pike are gone and the trout are back to grazing like cattle in the fertile shallows. Game on!

Middle Fork Feather River Fly Fishing
The Middle Fork Feather River is California's first adopted Wild & Scenic River and a jewel, with so many hatches to encounter you're sure to fall in love with it too. The last hour of light in late spring and early summer brings trout to the surface for profuse caddis hatches.

North Fork Yuba River Fly Fishing
North Yuba River is a fascinating fishery with the most beautiful rainbows out there. From the headwaters down to Bullard's Bar reservoir the river is filled with pocket water, long runs, and deep pools that hold some 5+ pound trout. It is an ideal home for a trout as the water runs cold, even during the dog days of summer.

Frenchman's Reservoir Fly Fishing
Frenchman's Reservoir is similar to Lake Davis but a bit smaller. It is known for big number fish days! This is a favorite with fly anglers from Nevada and California in search of a high desert still water game. Autumn is a great time here, whether you're fly fishing or trolling flies.

Eagle Lake Fly Fishing
Eagle Lake is the second largest body of water in the state of California and contains the unique Eagle Lake strain of Rainbow Trout. The alkalinity is very high and only the native fish can survive here. Freshwater shrimp is high on the trout's diet and fish grow fast and big, like force feeding rice to a Sumo wrestler. These Rainbows are a hard fighing fish that will wear your arm out and test your knots. Fishing this lake is a must for any aspiring stillwater angler, and the history of these trout is even more intriguing.

Small Creeks Fly Fishing
Small creeks are littered throughout Eastern Plumas County and I offer trips for the heartiest of anglers who look for complete solitude, unbound beauty, and wild trout. These trips require hiking around tough terrain but the experience is one you will savor for years. The creeks are best in the summer when the water temps still flow cold, while lower lakes and rivers are too warm for good trout fishing.
