December 2017 Fly Fishing News
EEKOE / Baiocchi’s Troutfitters Colab Fly Fishing Promo Project
9/1/2017 – EEKOE bamboo socks owner Chad Ottenbreit and me, along with Cinematographer Greg Stevens of Photoflight Productions worked together to create a fly fishing promo video for the brand. I was so impressed with the performance qualities that EEKOE socks provided that I just had to share with the fly fishing community. When I believe in a product that will enhance our time on the river, I will endorse it 100%! No stink, long life, soft comfort, perfect fit, temperature control, and made from a renewable resource. This is the best sock on the planet. Check out the video, and once you wear a pair of EEKOE socks, you’ll never wear anything else again!

12/7/2017 – I’m done guiding at the lakes for 2017. Book your trip now for the 2018 season, I already have 18 dates booked for the month of June alone. 530.228.0487, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Truckee River and Little Truckee Fly Fishing Update
12/10/2017 – On the main stem Truckee River the flows have dropped way down and releases from Lake Tahoe have been cut even more. At Glenshire they are 705 cubes, Hirschdale 851 cfs, Farad 916 cfs. The flows on the Little Truckee River have been cut drastically and are down to a meager 65 cfs and stable. If you do fish the Truckee River, nymph or use streamers in the side water, or in the slow tail outs using standard winter tactics. Check out this blog post on “winter tactics” from my blog archive HERE.
Lower Yuba River Update
12/7/2017 – The flows are back down and are currently running at 1,318 cubes at the Parks Bar bridge gauging station. Water is clear with a very slight tinge to it. A decent BWO hatch from mid morning to early afternoon has most of the trout keying in on them and rising in rhythm. Conditions improve for dry fly fishing when there is cloud cover. For a detailed report on my last trip, check out my latest blog post HERE.
