Join Reno Fly Fishing Outfitters & Baiocchi’s Troutfitters for new Stillwater Outings at Lake Davis
June 9-11, 16-18, 2017
Lake Davis is well known for its prolific damselfly hatch, and anglers come from all over the west to fly fish Lake Davis during the hatch each spring and summer. We will be spending the weekend sharing some of our secrets on how to fish Lake Davis and also teaching anglers the techniques to use on still waters anywhere. We will cover everything from early morning sight fishing the shoreline, to deep water nymphing in the middle of the day, and how to best approach the evening Hexagenia hatch. Also covered will be leader set ups for all stillwater applications, entomology, equipment requirements, flies, locations, and watercraft. Lake Davis is the perfect venue to sharpen your still water skills and practice some of our advanced techniques.
Jon Baiocchi and Rob Anderson have been guiding and teaching anglers advanced still water techniques for over 30 years. Jon is well known in the northern Sierra for his expertise on advanced still water techniques and is the current guru of Lake Davis. Both Rob and Jon deliver informative seminars at trade shows, fly club meetings, and are successful hard working guides with a very friendly demeanor. Teaching and instructing is their passion, and to see their guests learn and progress in the world of fly fishing is why they are involved.
Rob is also a commercial fly and product designer, guide, and managed the Reno Fly Shop for 12 years. He specializes in Pyramid Lake, hosting outings, and teaching large groups on a variety of waters in the Tahoe area. He also offers hosted trips to the Amazon for peacock bass, and Jurassic Lake in Argentina for monster rainbows. One of the highlights of the Lake Davis outings is Rob’s gourmet backcountry cooking skills which participants eagerly look forward to after a long day on the water.
Jon is a native northern Californian with 44 years of hands on fly fishing for trout, and guiding for 20 years. He carries on the tradition of sharing the knowledge and the passion passed down from his father; a fly fishing hall of famer, and a legendary voice for protecting and saving California fisheries. Jon’s entire life revolves around fly fishing whether he is fishing on his own, guiding, speaking at fly clubs, tying flies, writing articles for major publications, or teaching.
