2017 Fly Fishing Conditions, Updates, Presentations, Workshops, Outings, & Clinics
Spring has sprung, the days are longer, and aquatic hatches are waking up. With the huge amount of snow still in the Sierra, the rivers are running very high, and the fishing has been challenging. overall temperatures have been in a warming trend in the upper elevations of the Northern Sierra, and there are opportunities to still wet a line in between storms. Fish still have to eat, and high water does not affect them in any way. It’s typical big water fishing for this time of year, with different tactics, and concentrating on the side water. Focusing on stillwater venues will be of importance during this year’s runoff. Read my latest report on Spring time conditions, and available dates for my fly fishing tours, workshops, and outings. Also check out my presentation schedule for 2017 where you can learn from my highly informative Powerpoint programs on a variety of fly fishing topics.
